We have teamed up with COOK food to include their vouchers in our packages. The recipient can go online, choose from the extensive menu and get great-tasting food they want delivered to the door.

We asked 250 mums to choose from a long list (including jewellery!) what three gifts were most welcome after they had a baby. 80% said homecooked food, 9% said flowers. It’s probably pretty obvious. We know families with a baby are tired and at times like these – when the reserves are low – good food is even more important. Combine food and a thoughtful package that makes mum feel loved, and you’re on to a winner. As our packages are often also sent as get well gifts, these vouchers are a great addition for someone feeling below par.

COOK have been making delicious food since 1997, using the same ingredients and techniques used in home-cooking so that everything looks and tastes homemade. The meals arrive frozen, ready for when they’re needed.

The menu ranges from hearty British classics and curries to more delicate options such as cod with samphire or aromatic duck. There are also starters, puddings and kids meals (a huge help if the recipient already has children), and they cater for low calorie and special diets. As a guide, £35 could buy 5 meals for two (prices vary depending on the meals chosen). See more on the COOK website.

“As a dad of four, I immediately loved the idea of Don’t Buy Her Flowers. COOK is all about giving you that precious gift of time – time that you would have otherwise spent cooking. It’s great to be part of this business.”

Edward Perry, COOK co-founder.

Please note: COOK cannot deliver to the Isle of Man and some remote parts of Scotland (as the food needs to be delivered in under 24 hours). If you are unsure whether this includes your recipient’s address, you can check with COOK’s postcode search.

COOK’s minimum order is £35.
